Digital Storytelling Using A Green Screen

I just happened to be sitting on my computer doing some work for an online class I'm taking, when an email came through from SimpleK12 for a Digital Storytelling Event. One of the events was called, Create Amazing Digital Stories Easily with Green-Screen Effects and an iPad. I was intrigued since I use Digital Storytelling in my classroom with a green screen, but I am always looking for new ideas, especially using an iPad. In the past we always used iMovie on my computer. However, most of the time, I had to do the work.

(We were making a reading segment about space.)
(The green screen made the planets look like they were floating in space.)

Katie Ann from Diary of a Techie Chick was the presenter. She shared how to use the iPad App VeescopeLive to create movies using the green screen. The students took the video and added their background to create the movie. Sounded simple enough, so I downloaded VeescopeLive (full version for $2.99). Because I'm impatient and needed to try it immediately, I place a green cloth over my computer and grabbed Remi to help with the demonstration. Even without reading any of the directions, it was simple. I can't wait to get to school and put up my green screen. Now I can go shopping and get a camera stand for the iPad.
